| | Guildhall | | Friday Spectacular | | Flipron "Thrusting lyrical inventiveness & imagination high onto the shoulders of pop, with a quintessentially English sound shamelessly veering between cartoon psychedelia, dark bluesy confessionals & dusty drinking ballads, this is the band hailed by musicomh.com as 'the most original band in the UK'." "...woozy bohemian pop massacre...brilliant but frankly unclassifiable.” | | Peachy Farmer Based in Exeter, true Devon cream tea lovers. Peachy Farmer, an 6 piece band that play reggae, ska, dub farmers hoe down, can mostly been seen smashing it up at various events around Exeter! Sounds Like A marmot cruising in 6th gear down a Mexican dirt track, with the stereo up full bore. Very popular band in 2009. www.myspace.com/peachyfarmermusic | | Ellethia “Hailing from deep in the hills of dragon country, Ellethia is one girl, her guitar, and an intensely powerful voice. She plays a fusion of punk, politics, feminism and fantasy inspired, darkly poetic music that has been described as 'Stark, Brutal, Beautiful and Mesmerising"

White Lion | | Hobo Jones and the Junkyard Dogs A retro band to make you more than smile with their theatrical take on skiffle music dressed as 1940's Hobos with tattered suits and top hats, they deliver “Off the rails skiffle”. Don’t expect a museum piece the boys are live with all the musical influences which have passed since. Their credentials for entertainment are exemplary, winners of the 2005 Maidstone Busker's Festival and 7,000 hairy bikers at The Bath & West Bike Show loved them so much they asked them to play a second gig the next day. The basic core of three members named Hobo Jones (tea chest bass), Miser Bill (guitar) & Wino Tyrone (washboard, pots, pans & sink) also occasionally added to by a wild array of characters including a Reverend "Jailbird" O'Conner & a down & out spiv named Suitcase McGregor among others. Not to mention Vagabond Johnson. With a string of festivals to their name Bradninch is delighted to welcome them. www.hobojones.com | | Castle | | Junkyard Angels Formed in the glory days of Pub Rock, Junkyard Angels have flown the flag for Rhythm n' Blues for over three decades. During that time the band has guested on tours with American bluesmen, sharing stages with the likes of Buddy Guy and the late Jnr Wells, and Joe Louis Walker, recorded numerous times on the Paul Jones Radio Show and toured Switzerland, Spain and Italy. Fronted by original founding member Julian Piper, the band unfailingly tear up the floorboards whenever they appear. | | St Disen's Hall | | | WW2 Concert Party A popular event that isn’t a secret is the production which usually opens the music festival. As a change from the Old Time Music Hall, the group will present a 'Concert Party' of songs and sketches from the Second World War. They are hoping to involve the History Society in this, as well as tapping local people's memories of those days. Details to be announced, remember careless talk costs lives. However music, drama and fun are off ration so they will be in plentiful supply. Coupons will be available (at a price) for one of the two sittings which will take place at a location in Church Street. Mum’s the word and Bob’s your uncle |
